On behalf of the EU Delegation to the UAE, in collaboration with the Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi, we are pleased to invite you to participate in a unique Hackathon focused on AI for Sustainability. The event will take place on 6 October 2025 at Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi. As part of a common initiative to promote gender equality, the event will bring together women-led student teams from a select number of leading UAE universities committed to using data AI and machine learning for sustainability.
Participants from Bachelor and Master’s degrees are invited to put together teams of 3 to 5 members to develop AI-driven solutions (eg. machine learning models, predictive models, object detection, LLM, optimization mechanisms, etc.) to sustainability problems addressing SDGs 6, 7, 11, 12 and 13. The focus is on applying AI to enhance sustainability in Environment and Smart tech.

All participants will be granted a memento and certificate of attendance. The winning teams will be rewarded with a cash prize, as well as be invited to join a dinner gathering with H.E. Lucie Berger Ambassador of the European Union to the United Arab Emirates.
